International Human Rights Day being observed

On International Human Rights Day, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called on the international community to take concrete action against the human rights violations occurring in Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). In separate messages, both leaders strongly condemned the ongoing ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza and other occupied territories by Israel, as well as the brutal actions of the Indian armed forces in IIOJK.

President Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to advancing human rights, highlighting that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees fundamental rights to all citizens. He emphasized that Pakistan remains dedicated to empowering its people and ensuring their rights are protected. He also stressed that democracy, peace, freedom, and human rights are all interconnected and essential to building a stable and prosperous nation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his message, reminded the world that Islam, Pakistan's sacred religion, teaches the importance of following human values. He also pointed out that Pakistan's government has taken various legislative measures to protect human rights, underlining the country's commitment to safeguarding the rights and freedoms of its citizens.

On this significant day, both leaders called for stronger global actions to stop the ongoing violations and to ensure justice for those suffering in these regions.
