Rana Sanaullah, the Prime Minister's adviser, made serious accusations against former ISI Chief, Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed, during his appearance on the talk show *Nadeem Malik Live*. Sanaullah accused Hameed of using his powerful position for personal and political gain. He claimed that Hameed was involved in various illegal activities, such as coercing people and interfering in state matters for his own benefit.
One of the major accusations against Hameed involved his brother, Najaf, who partnered with a housing society. According to Sanaullah, Hameed used his influence to take control of the society by threatening its other owner. The owner was reportedly arrested under terrorism charges and referred to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). Sanaullah also revealed that former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa had directed the Ministry of Defence to investigate these claims following complaints.
In addition to these allegations, Rana Sanaullah claimed that Faiz Hameed was involved in managing the issue of audio leaks from the Prime Minister's Office. Sanaullah stated that someone in the Prime Minister's House had been leaking audio recordings of important political figures, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, to Hameed for a long time. He also said that Hameed had once claimed that the intelligence agency had the power to either give or deny respect to people.
Further accusations were made against Hameed in connection with a heroin case that Sanaullah claimed was fabricated against him. He alleged that the PTI founder, Imran Khan, had tried to manipulate the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to frame him, and that General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the then Army Chief, was informed about the matter.
Sanaullah also spoke about the political tensions during Imran Khan’s time as Prime Minister, particularly around the appointment and extension of the Army Chief. He alleged that Hameed had orchestrated a violent long march, which led to the events of May 9, 2022. Sanaullah claimed that all of these incidents were part of a larger plan led by Faiz Hameed.
Meanwhile, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that Faiz Hameed has been formally charged in a Field General Court Martial. The charges against him include political interference, violating the Official Secrets Act, misusing his authority, and being involved in incidents of violence and unrest, particularly those related to the events of May 9, 2022.
