Sunil Pal, the popular Indian comedian known for his role in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge (2005), has gone missing after attending a show on December 3. The 49-year-old comedian’s wife, Sarita Pal, reported him missing to the Santacruz Police Station after she was unable to reach him despite several attempts. According to Sarita, Sunil had traveled outside of Mumbai for a performance and was expected to return home that night. However, when he failed to show up and his phone remained switched off, she became worried and filed a missing person’s complaint. The police have started an investigation into his disappearance.
Sunil Pal is well-known for his work in comedy and acting, appearing in films like Apna Sapna Money Money, Hum Tum, and Phir Hera Pheri. Just a couple of days before his disappearance, he had posted happy and cheerful videos on Instagram. On December 1, he shared clips of himself enjoying a boat ride with friends and posted a caption that read, "Enjoying the waves of life," appearing content and full of joy.
Despite his public success, Sunil has faced several personal and professional struggles in the past. In 2017, he publicly accused filmmaker Anees Bazmee of not paying him for his work, claiming that many producers still owed him a significant amount of money, around Rs 20 to 25 lakh.
The police are continuing their efforts to locate the comedian, and fans are hoping for his safe return.
