Change has aligned with similar updates rolled out for iOS users

WhatsApp has introduced updated light and dark themes in its latest beta update for Android users, bringing a fresh look and feel to the app. The update, version 2.24.24.30, is available to a select group of testers through the Google Play Beta Programme.

In this update, the light theme now features black accents instead of the previous light blue, while the dark theme incorporates subtle white accents for a cleaner and more modern look. These changes are aimed at enhancing the app's visual appeal and providing a clearer distinction between WhatsApp Messenger and WhatsApp Business.

WhatsApp Business also received a design update, adopting a simplified logo that now only displays the word "WhatsApp," following a minimalist design approach.

These changes align with similar updates made for iOS users, helping to create a consistent visual experience across both platforms. The new themes are being rolled out gradually to beta testers, with wider availability expected in the coming weeks. Android users interested in trying the update can join the Google Play Beta Programme to access the beta version.

This update highlights WhatsApp’s commitment to improving the user experience and maintaining visual consistency across devices.
