Schools, colleges to remain closed in various cities on Monday

In response to the ongoing unrest following protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), authorities have decided to close educational institutions in several cities on Monday to ensure the safety of students and staff. The closure affects schools, colleges, and universities in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, and Balochistan.

The Islamabad district administration has confirmed that all government and private educational institutions in the capital will remain closed. A formal notification will be issued soon, and private school associations have agreed to follow the directive. Similarly, in Rawalpindi, all schools and colleges will be closed, with the local authorities citing the need to maintain public safety during the unrest.

Murree's Deputy Commissioner, Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi, also announced the closure of all educational institutions in the hill station due to the current political situation. This decision applies to both government and private schools in Murree.

In Balochistan, the Education Department has ordered the closure of all educational institutions across the province due to a wheel-jam strike organized by a dharna committee in Quetta. The strike protests the kidnapping of a local businessman, and all scheduled exams will be cancelled.

The closures come amid rising tensions across Punjab and the capital, where PTI workers have clashed with police, leading to arrests and violent confrontations. Authorities are prioritizing safety as the situation remains tense.
