Belarus president to arrive in Pakistan today for key bilateral talks


 

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko is set to arrive in Islamabad today for an official visit, which will continue until November 27. This visit is considered a significant step in strengthening the bilateral ties between Belarus and Pakistan, with several key agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) expected to be signed during the discussions.

President Lukashenko will meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to engage in detailed talks focused on expanding cooperation in areas such as trade, industry, technology, and other critical sectors. The two leaders are set to explore new avenues for collaboration, aiming to foster economic growth and open new opportunities for both nations.



The visit was initiated through a personal invitation extended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, highlighting the importance of this high-level diplomatic engagement for both countries. It is hoped that the visit will contribute to long-term strategic partnerships and increased economic ties between Belarus and Pakistan.

Alongside President Lukashenko, a high-level Belarusian ministerial delegation, led by Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzenko, has already arrived in Islamabad. The delegation, which includes key ministers from energy, industry, communications, and other sectors, will participate in discussions aimed at expanding cooperation across various fields. The delegation was warmly received at the airport by Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Additional Foreign Secretary (Europe) Shafqat Ali Khan, and Pakistan's Ambassador to Belarus, Sajjad Haider Khan.



Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed enthusiasm about the visit, stating that both the government and people of Pakistan are looking forward to fruitful discussions with the Belarusian leadership. This visit is seen as a major step toward deepening bilateral relations and paving the way for greater collaboration between the two nations.
