‘It is up to PTI to Hold Talks with Govt,’ Says Mohsin Naqvi

Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi addressed the media in Islamabad on Thursday, stating that it is up to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to initiate talks with the government. Naqvi emphasized that negotiations could not proceed as long as PTI continued to threaten the government with protests.

Naqvi also highlighted the government's commitment to ensuring the safety of a Belarusian delegation arriving in Pakistan on November 24. He stressed that providing security to the delegation was the government’s top priority. "We are fully prepared to guarantee their security," he said.

Regarding public gatherings, Naqvi clarified that the government would not permit any gatherings at this time due to security concerns. He mentioned that preparations had already begun to handle the situation, and the law and order would be carefully managed.

Naqvi also expressed concern over the ongoing security situation in the country, noting the recent tragic incident in Kurram, where 38 people lost their lives. He urged that better coordination between the federal and provincial governments, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was essential to improve the security situation.

Lastly, Naqvi suggested that PTI should consider holding protests in their own province, as no permission would be granted for protests in other areas, particularly Islamabad.
