Weather Update: Rain Forecast for Lahore and Other Punjab Cities

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (Met Dept) has issued a weather update forecasting partly cloudy conditions with chances of rain in Islamabad and surrounding regions. Light rain is expected in some areas, offering a brief respite from the dry weather that has been prevalent in recent days.

In Punjab, the situation is expected to be a bit more challenging, as several cities are likely to experience persistent smog and fog. Major cities such as Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sialkot, Hafizabad, Narowal, and Gujranwala are anticipated to face hazy conditions, with reduced visibility due to the dense fog. The forecast also predicts heavy smog and fog in areas like Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Multan, and Rahim Yar Khan.

Travelers and residents in these affected areas are advised to take extra precautions, as visibility could be significantly reduced, potentially leading to dangerous driving conditions and other hazards.

In addition to foggy conditions, rain is expected to hit parts of Punjab during the night, with cities like Lahore, Attock, Murree, and Rawalpindi likely to experience light to moderate rainfall. The forecast also includes rain in northern areas such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Peshawar, and Kohat, bringing some relief to these regions.

On the other hand, weather conditions in Sindh and Balochistan are expected to remain hot and dry, with no significant change anticipated in the coming days.
