ECP announces schedule for NA-262 Quetta by-election

 


The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially announced the schedule for the by-election in NA-262 Quetta, which was vacated following the disqualification of Adil Bazai, a member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), due to his defection.

According to the ECP, the by-election in NA-262 Quetta will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025. The process leading up to the election will unfold in a series of key dates. A public notice from the Returning Officer will be issued on December 2, 2024, followed by the submission of nomination papers, which will be accepted from December 4 to December 6.

The preliminary list of candidates will be published on December 7, and the scrutiny of the nominations will take place on December 12. By December 22, the final list of candidates will be released, and election symbols will be allotted to the candidates on December 24.

The by-election in NA-262 will proceed according to the official guidelines and schedule provided by the Election Commission. This election is a crucial event in the region, and all stakeholders are urged to follow the process as outlined by the ECP.
