ATC Moves to Declare Ali Amin Gandapur a Proclaimed Offender

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has taken steps to declare Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, a proclaimed offender. This decision comes after Gandapur repeatedly failed to appear in court for a case that has been registered against him at the I-9 police station in Islamabad.

The case, which involves terrorism charges, is centered around the activities of several PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) leaders, including Ali Amin Gandapur, Faisal Javed, Raja Khurram, and Waqas Qayyum. These individuals have been accused of involvement in actions that have been deemed to threaten public safety and order.

During a recent hearing, the case was presented before Judge Tahir Mehmood Supra. The defense attorneys of Faisal Javed and Wasiq Qayyum requested to be excused from attending the court session. However, the judge rejected their request, insisting that all accused individuals must attend the proceedings. Furthermore, the court took a firm stance by canceling the bail bonds of Faisal Javed, Wasiq Qayyum, and Raja Khurram, signaling serious consequences for their non-compliance with legal procedures.

Despite multiple summons issued for Ali Amin Gandapur to appear in court, he continued to remain absent. As a result, the court has now started the process to declare him a proclaimed offender. This step indicates that Gandapur could face serious legal repercussions, including potential arrest.

The case against the PTI leaders is part of a broader effort to address terrorism-related activities that have sparked significant concern in the country. As legal proceedings move forward, many are watching closely to see how the situation develops, particularly regarding the fate of the accused individuals.
